Let me say it for you

I’m Natalie B, a voiceover, presenter, podcaster – all round audio geek and I love talking. I’ve made a career of it. Since my teens I was obsessed with the radio and set my heart on working in radio and getting paid to talk. This all came true. I started in hospital radio and ended up presenting on one of the top commercial radio brands in the UK. Heart FM.

I’ve spent almost two decades being in a live radio environment, however after five years on breakfast radio and being pregnant with my first child, in February 2015, I stepped off the airwaves and now everything has changed.  Yes I’m a mum… however I now work from home.

Let’s just go back a few steps, rather than me telling you about all the different radio stations I’ve worked for and the crazy hours of the day I’ve been on air. Picture the scene, a 16 year old me, doing work experience at a local radio station in Leicester.

The breakfast show presenter tells me I have a nice voice and asks me to record some ‘stuff’ for him. Which I dutifully oblige. Imagine my embarrassment when he asks me to sound like I’ve had an orgasm!! ( I know this is wrong in so many ways but most of all for the 16 year old  inexperienced me!)

Needless to say, I managed to record something he was happy with and this didn’t deter me from being fascinated in the world of voiceover as well as radio which leads me to the hear and now.

You see I am working as a full time voiceover artist with a home studio, enabling me to raise my little boy and work from home. Along with this, I produce a number of podcasts, more details you will find if you click this link. So it’s fair to say I wear headphones a lot, love sound effects and stories and working out ways in which to get your attention through your ear holes!
